Commonly Asked Questions

Q:  How do I open an account at LYL?

A: Come in to the Levi Yitzchok Library to open an account.

Start a new account for just $15.

Each year your account will need to be renewed for $5.

Q: How does my account work?

A: Your account will allow you to take out up to 3 books for 21 days.  (New books or out of print books can be taken for one week and renewed one time.)

You can call or email us to renew your book for 7 days. (Books can be renewed up to three times.)

If your book is overdue you will be charged .20 cents per day late.

Q: Can I take out more than 3 books per account name?

A: If you would like to open a family or school account, you can choose whatever name you would like to put your account under. If you would like to borrow more than 3 books at a time, you are welcome to open multiple accounts under one name. The cost is still $15 per 3 books and $5 per 3 books to renew the account each year.

For example: If you would like to take out 9 books at a time, it costs $45 to set up the account for 1 year and it will cost $15 to renew it every year.

Q: How should I treat the books?

A: Please take good care of our books!

If a book is returned damaged, there is a $5 damage repair fee.

If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair (based on the librarian's discretion) you will be charged a replacement fee of $25.

Q: How should I act in the library?

A: Please use library voices and behavior at all times.

Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

There is no eating or drinking in the library.

There is no running in the library.

Please help us respect the books by being gentle with them, not placing them on the floor, and returning them to the return cart when finished reading.
